Inspiration - Research

From our recent meeting we discussed three areas we wanted to look into; Events, Visibility, and Comfortable/Private spaces. 

For the spaces idea I went ahead with the initial inspiration research looking mostly at current library spaces around the world and how they had gone about creating these. We looked at personal spaces, quiet social spaces, and imagination/inspiration spaces. I looked into separated personal spaces, some of which had been incorporated into the book shelving. Focusing more on the comfortable fun 'bubble' individuals can go to read or study away from others, but not actually blocking them away in tiny desks which Wellington City Library currently has. 

From this I also looked into easy fun ways for spaces to be divided. This could either be used for individual spaces or used for our other point of visibility separating the different areas of the library to make it more clear where certain areas are (colour coded for example). The print wall could incorporate local artists and bring more inspiration to the library.
